We concentrate to much on the idea that we have to rank well on search engines in order to get traffic to our websites. Why do I bring this into discussion ? Simply because search engines are offering so different results depending on where are you located when you perform a search, what is the time when you are searching or what type of domain do you have : .com, .net, .ro and so on and so forth. All these factors create inconsistencies in the results of search engines. That is why you need to keep in mind that your content is for PEOPLE to read and for search engines to rank it.

You can build your online business only if you have enough traffic to your website. Now, you can get traffic from organic searches (the healthy way), from social media networks or from payed methods (PPC, payed links or payed banners). No matter how you do it you need traffic that is relevant and that also converts. This basically means that you need high volume traffic of readers that are actually interested in your products, services, expertise.
Any other type of traffic will only increase the bounce rate and will do you more damage then good.

There are many factors that decide the Google ranking of a website but determining why a website doesn’t rank well for certain keywords is a complex process. Finally it all gets down to keyword phrases and the way you use it in order to work for you. The basic principle is simple : the more you “talk” using those keyword phrases and the more others “talk” about you using the same (or related) keyword phrases the more Google will think you are all about those keywords. Achieving a good balance in using keywords on your pages(both in content and in code) and not going into spam represents a continuous process.

There are several traffic techniques like PPC, Paid Banners or Paid Links but none of this can be compared to creation of content. Although those methods can get you traffic fast it doesn’t build a relation based on trust with your readers. The moment you’ll drop using it you’ll lose your visitors. With content it takes a little longer to develop a good stream of traffic but that traffic is there to stay.
