how-to-seo-analyze-your-competitionBesides from creating optimized content on your web site you’ll have to keep an eye on what your competition is doing and how they do it. And by that I mean that you’ll have to check a whole bunch of things before you attempt to create a page that will target a certain keyword and also after you’ve done it. Why ? Because if you are on the first page there’s a big chance of you being analyzed by others. You always have to know what your competition is doing. This might seem a little odd at the beginning but as time goes by, it will become a habit and doing a quick check on a competitor’s web site will let you see how well they’re doing. Here are a few things that you should check and analyze in what regards the web sites you compete against.

why-my-twitter-followers-are-not-really-following-meI’ve recently wrote an article about how to create a great community that will get you the benefits you expect. I decided to expand my own concepts and ideas on social media tools. And today’s winner is Twitter. Yes, another Twitter article but the difference is that this one is my opinion – so it’s gonna be different from any other articles. Everyone has his own interpretation on how social media networks and tools will impact his business, life, goals – we all feel the changes that appear in our lives. We tweet, we digg, we stumble, we blog, we create our own trace on the Internet. Maybe at some point there will be a tool that will track chronologically a search term. This way we’ll be able to see a version of our life : the virtual one, brought to you thanks to our addiction to the web.

are-you-really-targeting-those-keywordsWhen you are trying to create an optimized web site you will have to face some problems, or should I say , you’ll have to make some decisions. First of all decide on why you need a web site. Then you’ll have to choose a domain name, relevant keywords that also generate enough monthly traffic. And after you build your content targeted on the keywords you’ve chosen you’ll have to try and build links to that content. Any mistake you make in any of these choices will lead to a failure or to some low results. The most common mistakes are made on keywords.

traffic-ranking-which-one-is-more-importantHow many of you have spend lots of money on SEO services and didn’t saw any noticeable results ? I’ve seen this a lot. And we are not talking about small money : we are talking about thousands of dollars. I think this can be avoided in a simple way : you have to know what are you after : traffic, rankings, general optimization of your website, or increase of your revenue. If you will know what the result should be then you’ll be able to measure the it. Another side effect : you’ll be presented with a strategy to achieve the goal you are after – the entire SEO process will have a clear direction.

What is an “Yes Approach” ? I’ve read an article by Seth Godin where he outlined very quickly the power of an yes approach. This is about employees that really want to sell the product or service. This is not about employees who are trying to say NO to every customer – usually this is about people that work for the Govern or any other institution of the State. The article of Mr Seth is about how important is to have a positive approach to what the client wants.

I’m thinking of applying this concept to web services : maybe it’s about building a web site, or about optimizing a web site or maybe is just about developing a plan or a strategy to get more exposer on the Internet. And sometimes delivering what the client wants may not be that easy. Sometimes is really hard. But that is why we have to do our best and always remember to find a Yes Approach.

This way of spreading the word about your website or project is recommended by many. Go search for authority blogs for your niche and post comments there they say. Or go find a dofollow blog and post there so you’ll have a backlink to your site. In the end we have to be realistic and really think of how important blog comments are and also what are the benefits we can get from this.

Posting comments on others blogs is not that easy. First you’ll have to find authority blogs, then you have to read the articles they publish every day and after that you have to post your comment : which has to provide some value because otherwise becomes a spam comment that has many chances to be deleted. And even if it’s not deleted, a comment such as : “great article, keep it up” or “awesome tips” will get you zero benefits – guaranteed.
