Do You Have a Great Story? Want to know why is this important?

the-importance-of-a-great-storyThe web has transformed from a medium based on browsing and simple catalogs to one based on interaction. People are no longer visiting websites just to see what products or services a certain company has to offer. It went beyond that.

Now we are searching for more and more information on our subject but we don’t think that simple presentation content for a product is sufficient. The rest of the information about a product or a company we acquire it from social networks or blogs. It’s so easy these days to see how serious a company really is.

We can check their blog and their social accounts but we can also see if their customer support is as good as we would wanted to be. The fact that we can find this sort of information on the Internet makes you wonder why not every company has a social component to their business.

Advise to companies. Let the world know your message. Don’t expect others to buy your products and services and then go on the web and tell everyone how great they are. It will not happen. Why? Because nobody cares about you. If you buy a product you are doing it because you think that is the solution to your problem. You’re not doing it to support the company – you are interested only in you.

That is why you as a business owner have to tell your story. And the better the story the better the reaction of the public will be. And by that I don’t mean you should have a great story about how your business come to shape or how you come up with the idea for a certain product (although this can be also used to serve your purpose) but how do you present your business and products to the world.

It’s all about interaction and community. Telling your story to total stranger can be effective but you’ll get better results if you tell the story to a friend. Simply because a friend will tell his friend and that friend to his friend and so on. And by friend I mean people that already bought from you or people that place a comment on your blog or real friends.

I think we all should think of this and if you have anything to say about this subject I’d like to hear it in your comments bellow.
