A nicely written piece encompassing a lot of the fundamentals. I'd be interested to hear the sort of timeframe you usually expect to rank well for keywords with 3,000,000 pages. I appreciate there are a lot of variables to consider but with a couple of days a weeks SEO what is your general target?

Nice job in describing long-tail SEO. My question would be since the statistic floating out there is that 80% of all B-to-B searches are done naturally (NSO) what clever strategies to you have for creating great copy.

I would add that it is always is good to be a writer, a creative you can't stop thinking and writing about long-tail keywords!

Best,

I think it would be best to make the decision on long tail keywords by looking at both semantically related and traffice related numbers.I always look for high traffic numbers and lower competing pages rather than looking for a large number of competing pages. I agree that low competing pages might mean there is no money to be made, but look for an easy way in.

For me, I just focus on the rules of SEO and also the LSI for my website. I find that when I do that, surprisingly my website get rank high in certain keywords.

Do give me some comments about my work and hope that I can improve more.. http://moonloh.com/hows-your-google-organic-search-results/ =)
