After a break in my blog writing that I used it to rethink my ideas and what to communicate through this website I decided it’s time I should restart writing. The main difference between what will come and the articles that are on my blog right now will be a different way to look at things. You see, my articles, up until now, were very focused on the technical side of optimizing your website and finding the proper keywords and stuff like that. What my articles will try to present from now on it’s a less-technical-side of promoting your website and more a human-natural-way-of-getting-yourself-noticed-on-the-web.
The fact that you can receive traffic and exposure without being top five in Google is now real : social websites gives us the ability to expose ourselves and our businesses and our lives. There are many markets in which you really can’t be top 5 because of the authority website. I really believe that just by using the free power of these social media channels you can promote anything : you just need to find a suitable audience for your product or service. A very intuitive way to classify social networks was presented by Dragos Roua in an article of his.
Another thing that I realized is the length of article doesn’t matter. You just need to look at Seth Godin’s blog and you’ll see one of the best blogs that is out there with articles that don’t exceed 500 words (in its majority). Articles get big when there is more than one idea presented in the text. Seth Godin made me realize that it’s far much better and more productive to concentrate on small concepts that are explained individually in separate articles than trying to express the hole-complex-idea in one article.
I have to say that lately I’m more interested in how you can build your own history on the Internet, how you can build a brand by just using the free social networks, how you can promote services and products and how you can improve your message and communication-skills in order to attract the eyes of the public on you. Of course that I still read about technical SEO and the basic stuff but the more I read, the more I realize that the technical rules are representing just the beginning of your journey. Your website and what you will do to market and spread your content will evolve depending on you.
You can hire the best SEOs but the real work, the real image of your website – yourself, your business, your brand – will be up to you.
Now, I’d like to invite anyone to comment here bellow and share his/hers ideas on this matter. We are witnessing the birth of a new web and I think you have to be prepared in order to succeed in this new social-web. Quality Content becomes more and more and more important : and search engines try to find better ways to improve search results and present you with the most relevant information.
