Keyword research with Google
So you have to decide the keywords for your web site but you also want to target specific keywords so that the adwords that appear from your adsense to have high PPC. Determining which keywords produce the highest payed adsense is a task for payed keyword tools but the majority work best only with english and have poor results in other languages (especially those languages that are not that well known).
Google offers two free tools for keyword research to help you configure your adwords campaign. Doing some testing with these two tools you can easily find which keywords generate higher payed adsense. First I start with Google External Tool (https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal) . I set up the language and the country I want the searches to be made (you have the possibility to test for example romanian language but from all the countries or from a certain country where you know that there are many romanians). Then you type your keywords (one group per line), you enter the security code displayed and click Get keyword ideas. You will be presented with a table that contains not only the keywords you typed in but also suggestions ( synonyms ) from Google. Very important is the fact that it can show you how many searches were performed in the last month(on Google) for each word or phrase or which is the month that has the highest search rate and one of the most important things cost per click estimated. You can also choose different matches types like broad, exact, phrase or negative. If you choose to see all the columns you can see the trend per months and the competition in adwards for that keyword. Higher competition is better for you if you are interested in keywords that generates higher payed adsense. At this moment I usually sort the keywords that have the most searches but I also write down the more specific keywords that usually have less searches but are payed better because are more targeted. For all the words that I choose I do a Google search to see the competition because it’s no use to start the battle with the big web sites. You have to start low and build a strong foundation to be able to go up. Now I take all those keywords and go to the second keyword tool from Google, the Traffic Estimator (https://adwords.google.com/select/TrafficEstimatorSandbox). The only thing you have to do here is enter all your keywords (one group per line) and choose the language and the country. Then hit continue. For each keyword Google will make an estimation of how much you have to pay per click(based on the competition on that keyword) and how many clicks you can receive per day. You also receive an estimation of how much you’ll have to spend per day for the adword campaign. This tools will offer only suggestions and estimations. It will not show you the highest payed keywords(I mean it will not tell you : this is the highest) for adsense but if you do multiple searches it can greatly help you because an adword that costs more and has the potential to receive multiple clicks means that it can also generates money for you by adsense. These tools are not perfect but given the fact that are free and they work great with any language and country I think that are very good for keyword suggestions.
