Twitter Tips: Socialize on Twitter by ReTweet-ing

socialize-on-twitter-by-re-tweetingEverybody heard about Twitter, many of you probably have Twitter accounts and you are tweeting about what you read, what you do, what videos are you watching, news and so on. There are so many videos and articles out there that teach you how to get more followers or how to make money with Twitter. I’m more interested in how you can interact with your followers.

The idea to have lots of followers and no interaction is silly. It’s easy to increase the number of your followers. Search for the people that tweet about things that interest you and follow them. At least 70% will follow you back, especially if you also tweet about the same things.

So, in my opinion the number is not a problem but how do you make your followers react to what you say and what links do you tweet. If you have 10k followers and you tweet a link you should get at least 500 clicks. Otherwise why are you having so many followers?

It’s not always easy to interact with so many followers and engage in discussions. There are moments when you can easily participate to a topic but what can you do in all those other cases? You can re-tweet. Now, don’t understand by that to re-tweet everything you see. Look carefully and choose only tweets that you would post it yourself. Re-tweeting is a great way to shoot two things with one bullet:

  1. you present your followers with an information that you consider to have value
  2. the person that initially tweeted the information will see your RT and be sure that at some point will return the favor

Re-tweeting is a silent way to say something like “hi, I like what you’re tweeting. I’ll go tell the others“. The person that first tweeted the info can also get followers from this action, especially if the RT comes from someone with a big number of followers or high authority.

So, what do you think about the RT? Do you think it helps creating relations or do you consider it to be a low form of tweeting (something like I’m to lazy to search for fresh information myself). Let me know in comments bellow.
