Web Design and Web Content go Hand in Hand

Web design and web content are related to each other. The reason is both the design of your website and the content you provide on your website talks about you and about the product or service that you wish to offer on your website. For example if you would be a poet, people would expect to read poetry when coming to your blog, if you are a photographer you have to offer both good images and good description or maybe you are a web designer. Then you should talk like one. At least on your website. People need that. They need to see you are good at what you do. They need to trust you before buying. And you can’t do it without trust. It’s like when you’re going to a rock concert and you don’t expect to see the lead singer dressed for opera and sing like Frank Sinatra.
That is why you have to learn how to offer the image people might expect to see. I also made a video on this. It’s my first one so be gentle : I promise that it will get better. For the moment I’m still frozen in front of the camera but I’m learning.
I would also appreciate the comments and your opinions that could help me improve my videos.

I enjoyed your video. I always enjoy honest commentary on any subject.
I agree that Content and Design should go hand in hand. I believe that design has a lot to do with trust just as you mentioned. Visitors don’t necessarily judge good or bad design, they usually express how they ‘feel’ about the design in statements such as: “This website doesn’t feel professional.” “That website makes me feel happy”. Those are things that design brings.
Content on the other hand keeps people coming back. When I make travel arrangements for work I have to go to the travel agency site. This site has an awful design but great content and great accountability. It is more of a tool than a website. I would also argue that Craigslist.com has awful design but unbeatable content. Is that good or bad?
Keep up the great work. Found you on Twitter.
Thank you for your sincere opinion. I will create a theme of my own instead of using a free one. Until then I consider this theme acceptable in the terms of deign.
Thank you again and come back for more.
I’ve asked the question on Twitter and here was the answers :
Question 1 : Do you think that Web Design and Web Content go Hand in Hand ?
Maxbeatty :
I think content brings people to your site (headline, product, etc.) and design keeps them coming back. So yes, hand-n-hand.
Blogdesigner :
I think that without one, the other will not be as powerful as it could be.
I hate when someone who has a lot of knowledgeable things to say, hasn’t taken the time to design their site well.
Or if they’ve got a killer design, but the brain the size of a peanut
MrsMoneyMerge :
You need both – ugly website they won’t stay to read content, will bounce from pretty one if no good content.
Ivyclark :
Yup, there has to be a balance of both; and the ratio will depend on the site objective.
Bad design makes me question a site’s credibility; and a beautiful site lacking content doesn’t bring any value.
Question 2 : In Order to Succeed You Need to Fail First ?
Technopodge :
Agreed failure teaches what we need to succeed
CraigTeich :
God, I hope that’s true. If not, I’m in trouble, and no babies would ever learn to walk
Ivyclark :
sometimes, success comes with simply good planning and
I believe success comes after failure only if lessons are learnt.
